Changing your appearance to match your favorite anime character is a great way to show your love for your favorite show while playing Minecraft.

There are thousands of anime skins available online, but looking for the best can be very time-consuming.

Everyone has their own perspective on how to pixelate their favorite anime character, and quality is all over the place.

Lucky for you, I already went through the trouble of sifting through countless anime-based Minecraft skins to find the very best. Here are the results of my research!

50. Zero Two (Darling in the FranXX)

Check Out This Skin

We’re kicking off the ranking with one of the most influential and popular anime ladies in recent years.

Zero Two’s popularity among anime enthusiasts can only be compared to how popular NieR: Automata’s 2B is among gamers.

There’s something about the wild but cute romance between Zero Two and Hiro that melts our hearts and makes us yearn for young love.

If the regular red dress outfit doesn’t quite convince you, check out the battlesuit version too.

49. Soma Yukihira (Food Wars)

Check Out This Skin

Food Wars was an unexpected hit that changed how I think about Shonen anime.

Its protagonist, Soma Yukihira, has the same indomitable heart as Naruto, Ichigo, or Luffy – but instead of fighting, he uses it to create the most delicious dishes.

No matter how stacked the odds are against him, Soma always turns it around with an unexpectedly tasty dish that showcases his eclectic cooking style.

Foodies and masters of cookery alike should definitely try out this colorful skin.

48. Matoi Ryuko (Kill la Kill)

Check Out This Skin

If you’re the kind of gamer that never gives up in the face of injustice, the Ryuko Matoi skin is for you.

With her talking uniform Senketsu and her trusty scissor blade, Ryuko cuts through the power structure in Honnouji Academy to avenge her father.

It’s a long road full of tough opponents, but Ryuko always finds the right thread to cut to unravel their folly.

47. Mako Mankanshoku 2 Star Goku Uniform (Kill la Kill)

Check Out This Skin

One of Ryuko’s most difficult fights was against her best friend, Mako Mankanshoku.

We see Mako don this 2-Star Goku Uniform in Episode 7, where she becomes the President of Fight Club, thus helping her family move up in the world.

Despite her rather honest personality, Mako feels obligated to protect her family’s well-being.

It’s a sad moment in their friendship but an incredibly badass one for anime viewers.

46. Kaguya Shinomiya (Kaguya-sama LOVE is WAR)

Check Out This Skin

Love is a complicated thing.

Sometimes you have it, and sometimes you spend your days coming up with increasingly elaborate plots to trick your crush into confessing their love.

Kaguya is just as fierce on the battlefield of love as in any other competition.

She’ll dig fast, build better, and crush you in PvP – all while looking prim and proper.

45. Fujiwara Chika (Kaguya-sama LOVE is WAR)

Check Out This Skin

Despite President Shirogane and Vice-President Shinomiya being the show’s main protagonists, the third most important Student Council member enjoys massive popularity online.

I’m talking about Secretary Chika Fujiwara – an adorable airhead that rose to fame thanks to her little dance becoming a top-tier meme.

Whenever Chika is on screen, it’s only a matter of time before you laugh out loud.

44. Megumin (Konosuba)

Check Out This Skin

You’d hope that the power to blow up entire cities would be handled by only the most prepared and level-headed people.

In the case of Konosuba, this power is in the hands of a rather silly wizard.

As a member of the Crimson Magic Clan, Megumin is an expert on fire magic – or, rather, explosion magic. In fact, it’s the only type of magic she can cast.

Better stock up on TNT.

43. Kazuma Satou (Konosuba)

Check Out This Skin

Megumin, Darkness, and Aqua are all excellent female leads that keep Konosuba interesting – but the glue that brings it all together is Kazuma.

Unlike the dense and starry-eyed harem protagonists you’re used to, this former Japanese student sees things as they are.

He’s not interested in leading a party of useless people just because they’re pretty – even if that’s more or less what ends up happening.

42. Hinata Shoyo (Haikyu!!)

Check Out This Skin

I’ve never been a fan of sports anime.

I hate watching real-life sports – let alone participating in them – so why would anime be any different?

There are, of course, exceptions to the rule.

Haikyu!! is the kind of show your friends won’t stop recommending until you give in and watch it.

When I finally caved, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceedingly lovable characters, including protagonist Hinata Shoyo.

41. Koro-sensei (Assassination Classroom)

Check Out This Skin

Assassination Classroom is a bizarre show where a mysterious yellow alien teaches a whole class of wannabe killers-for-hire.

His method?

Putting a price on his own head.

As his students quickly discover, killing a yellow space octopus is harder than it looks.

Hopefully, this skin will make you just as hard to kill.

40. Akame (Akame ga Kill)

Check Out This Skin

Wherever there is a mighty empire, there is corruption and cruelty.

The powerful oppress the powerless, and anyone opposing the status quo has the odds stacked against them.

That couldn’t possibly stop Akame, though.

With the Demon Sword Murasame, Akame will cut down any Imperial dogs standing in her way.

39. Yuno Gasai (Mirai Nikki)

Check Out This Skin

Akame might be a ruthless killer, but at least she doesn’t enjoy it.

The same can’t be said about the sadistic anti-heroine Yuno – the co-protagonist of Future Diary.

Together with her partner/victim Yukiteru, Yuno rises through the ranks of a battle royale to become the God of Space and Time.

Her objective? To monopolize Yukiteru and get a “happy end.”

Yuno’s psychotic but romantic personality was a hit among audiences of hormonal teenagers willing to murder gods just to get with their high school crush.

38. Yato (Noragami)

Check Out This Skin

Here’s a god you definitely won’t want to murder.

Yato – real name: Yaboku – is an ancient God of Calamity who’s been forgotten along with his shrine.

Finding himself in the modern world, Yato decides to become a God of Fortune, though he’s always flat-out broke himself.

His past as a violent god also keeps coming back to bite him, but he usually finds a way to pull through.

37. Konata Izumi (Lucky Star)

Check Out This Skin

If you ask tribal shamans where they got their herbalist knowledge, they’ll say something incomprehensible like “the plants taught us.”

Well, I had a similar experience becoming an anime fan.

I was taught the art of losing sleep and ignoring my responsibilities to watch more anime by Konata Izumi – the biggest, most beloved animated otaku in history.

She’s cute, funny, and knows more about anime than you and I combined. What’s there not to love?

36. Rebecca (Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners)

Check Out This Skin

Studio TRIGGER’s talent for creating beautifully-animated, inspiring stories with addictive characters was vital in reviving the hype around Cyberpunk 2077.

But one of their Edgerunners takes the cake as the coolest character in the show by a long shot.

Despite looking like a kid, Rebecca is a violent, mentally unstable, undeniably badass woman with a (mostly) good heart.

I promise you’ll be the only one on your Minecraft server whose eyes are neon green on orange.

35. Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)

Check Out This Skin

Watching One Piece is not a hobby; it’s a way of life.

It’s watching the anime, reading the manga, and suffering whenever it goes on break. Most importantly, it’s about recommending One Piece to everyone you know.

This Monkey D. Luffy skin is perfect for the Straw Hat Pirates out there to continue advertising their favorite show, even while playing Minecraft.

34. Zoro (One Piece)

Check Out This Skin

If there’s a character that can compete with Luffy in levels of badassery, it’s Zoro.

This guy looked at someone dual-wielding Katanas – an ability most of us could only dream of – and decided to one-up them by wielding a third blade with his teeth.

Leave it to One Piece to make something that ridiculous work.

This Minecraft skin is perfect for the honorable warrior with a temper.

33. Gojo Satoru (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Check Out This Skin

Who doesn’t like overpowered characters?

From Superman to Saitama from One Punch Man, these invincible heroes are favorites of audiences worldwide.

My favorite kind of OP character is Gojo Satoru – a ruthless badass with a charming personality but questionable motives that treats others as if they’re mere inconveniences (because they are).

His character design is also perfect for a Minecraft skin, further motivating me to choose him to represent Jujutsu Kaisen in our ranking.

32. Totoro (My Neighbor Totoro)

Check Out This Skin

No creature in anime is more beloved than Totoro.

Looking at this adorable forest sprite, you can’t help but want to give them a big hug and ruffle their fur.

This immense cuteness earned Totoro the role of Studio Ghibli’s official mascot. For many, Totoro is as much a symbol of animation as Mickey Mouse.

I love how the author of this skin managed to capture Totoro’s somewhat vacant facial expression with just four black dots. It’s a work of art.

31. No Face (Spirited Away)

Check Out This Skin

Another famous critter from the Studio Ghibli mythos that looks great as a Minecraft Skin is No Face from Spirited Away.

Nobody knows the actual shape of this spirit or if they even have one.

All we see in the film is a simple mask with purple accents hanging over a black shadow. This simplicity is what makes it so good for Minecraft.

This skin faithfully recreates No-Face’s straightforward design in Minecraft’s low-res style.

30. Rin Okumura (Blue Exorcist)

Check Out This Skin

As the literal son of Satan, Rin’s choice to become an exorcist is a little unusual.

We all have issues with our parents, but are you sure you want to be an exorcist? You have horns, fangs, and pointy ears, my dude.

Regardless of his ability to plan ahead, Rin is a super likable character – and his design translates quite well into this Minecraft skin.

29. Meliodas (The Seven Deadly Sins)

Check Out This Skin

Meliodas finds himself in a similar position to Rin Okumura.

He’s a mighty demon who’s decided to desert his brethren and oppose his father, the Demon King.

But, unlike Rin, Meliodas doesn’t join some cringe organization like the exorcists.

Instead, he takes the fight to his father with the Seven Deadly Sins: an order of ruthless and overwhelmingly powerful criminals-turned-knights.

It’s not really a fair comparison, though. After all, Meliodas has had thousands of years to become this badass.

28. Kirito (Sword Art Online)

Check Out This Skin

Kirito is the obvious choice if you’re looking for a video game avatar.

After all, most of the time in the anime, we look at Kirito’s avatar instead of his physical self.

This skin lets you become Kirito’s Sword Art Online character in the blocky world of Minecraft instead of Aincrad.

Don’t worry. Minecraft won’t try to fry your brain if a mob gets the better of you.

27. Asuna (Sword Art Online)

Check Out This Skin

As the protagonist of a shonen anime, Kirito is obviously overpowered – but his beloved Asuna doesn’t stay far behind.

Unlike Kirito, who was a bit of a video game maniac before the SAO event, Asuna was an average gamer at the time.

Even so, she rose to the challenge and became one of the strongest Knights of the Blood. In a way, that makes her even more impressive than her beta-tester boyfriend.

Her white-and-red color palette looks gorgeous on this stylish Minecraft skin.

26. Aisaka Taiga (Toradora)

Check Out This Skin

It’s been a while since Toradora came out in 2008, but my love for Taiga and the other characters continues to burn bright.

Toradora is simply the most romantic love story ever told in anime form, and the comedy is also top-notch.

A big part of what makes this anime so good is Taiga herself.

Nicknamed the Pocket Tiger by her classmates, she’s known for her fierce and violent personality – but under all that violence hides a pure, loving heart.

25. Light Yagami (Death Note)

Check Out This Skin

Death Note has long served an essential purpose as an “ambassador” anime.

Its psychological thriller storyline proved irresistible to Western audiences, inducting many into the realm of Japanese animation.

Despite Netflix’s repeated attempts at making him lame, Death Note’s Light Yagami remains an absolute legend in fans’ minds worldwide.

The khaki jacket, brown pants, and red tie combo aren’t flashy, yet you instantly see Kira in them. It’s a testament to his emotional impact on the viewer/reader.

24. Lelouch Lamperouge (Code Geass)

Check Out This Skin

The logical next step after watching Death Note has to be Code Geass.

Protagonist Lelouch Lamperouge exhibits the same tactical brilliance as Light, and they both use their big brains to enact vigilante justice and try to take over the world.

While Lelouch employs questionable methods (like terrorism and Geass mind-control), he’s far from the villain Light turns out to be. He’s just doing his best in a dog-eat-dog world.

Also, try clicking here for the helmet-on version. His name is Zero!

23. Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto: Shippuden)

Check Out This Skin

If we’re talking “anime ambassadors,” we can’t leave out Naruto Uzumaki.

This passionate and determined ninja taught us that wearing a bright orange jumpsuit during covert missions is fine as long as you have the brawn to back it up. Believe it!

Naruto was a before and after for Western anime audiences. Suddenly, everyone knew what anime was, and many more were willing to try it.

This Minecraft skin recreates Naruto’s post-timeskip look. If you’d prefer the original series’ younger Naruto, then here’s a good alternate skin.

22. Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto: Shippuden)

Check Out This Skin

Shounen protagonists need an eternal rival that pushes them to the next level.

Just as Goku has Vegeta, Naruto has Sasuke.

Calling Sasuke just a “rival” might be understating it, though. This guy was an outright villain for the better part of the series – even if he was being manipulated by Madara Uchiha.

Ultimately, he returns to the Leaf Village as if nothing ever happened. It must be nice to be best friends with the Hokage!

21. Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan)

Check Out This Skin

Those that don’t have a rival must at least have a childhood friend.

And, sometimes, your childhood friend single-handedly steals the show and becomes the most beloved character in your series.

Mikasa Ackerman is the biggest female anime badass in recent memory. Her uncanny ability to wipe the floor with Titans and human jerks is awe-inspiring.

You can also get the Eren Jaeger Minecraft skin to complete the set.

20. Colossal Titan

Check Out This Skin

Most people watching the first episode of Attack on Titan watched in horror as the Colossal Titan destroyed any semblance of peace and prosperity in Shiganshina.

Me? I was thinking about how damn cool the special titans were.

In the world of Attack on Titan, there’s nothing I’d like to be more than the Colossal Titan.

Look at the size of the thing! I can’t imagine a safer environment in Paradis than inside its head.

Check out the Armored Titan skin to complete this dynamic duo.

19. Rem (Re:Zero)

Check Out This Skin

If you like cute anime girls, chances are you know Rem.

This painfully cute blue-haired maid is half of the reason why Re:Zero proved so popular. She completely stole the show from Emilia – even if Subaru disagrees.

Despite her adorable appearance and petite frame, Rem hides the strength of an Ogre.

This skin is perfect for anyone who seems cute and chill on the outside but has a volatile temperament.

Along with Rem, you should check out the Minecraft skin for her pink-haired sister, Ram.

18. Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Check Out This Skin

Few male leads are as beloved and respected in anime as Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist.

In the show – both the original anime and Brotherhood – we see Edward grow from a starry-eyed kid who thought he could play god to a determined warrior willing to pay the price for what he wants.

He’s not the most mature individual throughout the show, but he’s getting there!

What I like the most about this specific skin is how the author made Edward’s shoes rather large to make him appear shorter, even though Minecraft characters are all the same height.

That’s what I call resourcefulness and attention to detail!

17. Alphonse Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Check Out This Skin

The whole reason Edward didn’t just accept his fate and live his life with an automail arm and leg was to protect Alphonse.

During their ritual to bring back their dead mother, Edward lost a couple limbs, but Alphonse lost his entire body. Now, his soul is anchored to a massive suit of armor.

Badass for sure, but also terribly inconvenient.

We see Alphonse come out of his brother’s shadow throughout the series and “grow into the armor,” so to speak.

Even then, he retains an innocent perspective and pure heart matching his age.

16. Dio Brando (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure)

Check Out This Skin

No anime villain has half the confidence and style of the one and only Dio Brando.

Also known as DIO (in all caps), this blonde Adonis started his life with petty crime: a dead dog and a stolen first kiss. It revealed his fundamentally evil nature, but it was still small-scale.

With time, he became a literal vampire with a death count in the thousands using his charm (and some mind control techniques) to get a litany of wretches to do his bidding.

Of course, you can’t have DIO without his Stand: The World.

15. Giorno Giovanna (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure)

Check Out This Skin

JBA follows an unbroken line of badasses descended from the original Jojo: Jonathan Joestar.

After exploring the trials and tribulations of four different Jojo’s in parts 1-4, author Hirohiko Araki decided to push the boundaries of what could be considered a “Jojo.”

GioGio is a blonde Italian street urchin with a dream, a killer fashion sense, and enough brains to take over the world if he tried.

If you think he looks a bit like DIO… you wouldn’t be wrong.

Want to know how that happened? Go watch the show!

14. Jolyne Cujoh (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure)

Check Out This Skin

What does a Jojo need to subvert the audience’s expectations and capture their attention after someone like Giorno?

How does looking exactly like Billie Eilish sound?

Jolyne – the protagonist of JBA Part 6 – is a very different Jojo. She’s not half as disagreeable as Jotaro, and she’s a bit of an airhead at times.

Still, she reminds us what the Joestar bloodline is all about every time she narrowly snatches victory from the jaws of defeat.

13. Saber (Fate / Stay Night)

Check Out This Skin

Medieval fantasy Minecraft servers are a dime a dozen – and Saber would blend right into any of them.

Saber – real name: Artoria Pendragon – is the heroic spirit of King Arthur, who just happens to be a cute anime girl in the universe of Fate/Stay Night.

She’s brought back to life to fight in the Holy Grail War and acquire a magic artifact with the power to grant wishes.

Her combat experience should prove helpful in PvP, even with no legendary relics on the line.

12. Rei Ayanami (Neon Genesis Evangelion)

Check Out This Skin

Audiences have thought about it for years.

Isn’t it weird that Shinji has so much sexual tension with his mom’s clone?

Sigmund Freud would probably disagree, and honestly, it’s hard to blame Shinji.

After all, Rei Ayanami was a romantic awakening for many young people watching the show. She popularized “waifus” among Western audiences before we even had a name for them!

Her mysterious nature and demure (read: deadpan) personality made her irresistible, and it has shaped the future of anime babes ever since.

11. Asuka Langley (Neon Genesis Evangelion)

Check Out This Skin

The polar opposite of the doll-like Rei Ayanami was the fiery Asuka Langley – an EVA pilot from Germany with a big personality and seemingly a lot to prove.

From the instant she enters the show, Asuka completely changes the game. She’s like a bulldozer, shattering the status quo and forcing Shinji to try and keep up.

Asuka is also the international symbol of Tsundere characters.

The way she hides her warm and fuzzy feelings behind a veneer of unprovoked aggression toward Shinji proved incredibly endearing to some.

10. Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon)

Check Out This Skin

Sailor Moon is like the female version of Goku.

By that, I mean she’s the internationally-recognizable protagonist of a classic anime show that’s been translated to countless languages.

She’s also the biggest badass in her show (after Sailor Uranus, because she’s so damn cool).

The magical girl genre wouldn’t be where it is today without Usagi Tsukino – and this skin perfectly captures her charm.

9. Hatsune Miku (Vocaloid)

Check Out This Skin

Another pigtail-sporting heroine we can’t overlook is Miku Hatsune: the most well-known mascot of the Vocaloid voice-synth software.

Calling Miku just a mascot might be understating her influence, though. She might have started there, but by now, this virtual Japanese idol has taken on a life of her own.

The Miku Hatsune industrial complex produces albums, holographic concerts, video games – and so much merch!

It was only a matter of time before someone made a Miku skin for Minecraft.

8. Goku (Dragon Ball Z)

Check Out This Skin

When asked who the biggest badass in anime is, people will give all kinds of answers.

But when they’re asked the question, their minds go to the same place first: Goku.

This heroic and pure-hearted Saiyan is a referent when it comes to anime power levels.

The way he trashes and humiliates Frieza is simply unforgettable, and DBZ is full of examples like that.

Make sure to get the Super Saiyan Goku skin to complete the set.

7. Tanjiro Kamado (Demon Slayer)

Check Out This Skin

Demon Slayer is one of the most popular anime series ever, competing only with real giants like Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z.

Protagonist Tanjiro Kamado helped achieve this popularity by perfecting Goku’s own technique.

Despite having the softest, most empathetic, and pure heart in the show, Tanjiro can be an unrelenting demon-slaying machine when push comes to shove.

The balance between the two makes rooting for Tanjiro an absolute pleasure.

6. Nezuko Kamado (Demon Slayer)

Check Out This Skin

Tanjiro’s main motivation in the show is to protect his little sister, Nezuko.

One look at Nezuko is enough to show she doesn’t need that much protection, though.

Having become a demon after watching her entire family get brutally murdered, Nezuko is probably stronger than Tanjiro.

She just gets a whole lot less training. Zero training, to be exact.

She’s also the cutest thing to ever exist in the universe of Demon Slayer – so waste no time and try out this sweet Minecraft skin.

5. Kyojuro Rengoku (Demon Slayer)

Check Out This Skin

In 2020, Demon Slayer – The Movie: Mugen Train became the highest-grossing anime film ever made and the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time.

Part of the reason was the focus on Kyojuro Rengoku: the Flame Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps and one of the most inspiring characters in the show.

His determination is evident by the way he looks. His gaze has the intensity of an indomitable fire, reflecting his passion and skill as a warrior.

Watching Kyojuro fight at 100% capacity was worth every penny I spent on that movie ticket.

4. Katsuki Bakugou (My Hero Academia)

Check Out This Skin

Some people just want to watch the world get blown up by stacks of TNT.

If you count yourself among them, there’s no anime skin more appropriate for you than Bakugou from MHA.

This dude literally sweats nitroglycerin, which he can set on fire to create massive explosions. Of course, he’s utterly immune to his own explosions.

He also has one of the coolest superhero outfits in the whole series, which this skin perfectly captures.

3. Hawks (My Hero Academia)

Check Out This Skin

The one thing I don’t like about Bakugo is how much time he spends yelling.

I prefer a cool and aloof badass who wipes the floor with his enemies without boasting about it afterward: someone relaxed and laid-back like the No. 2 Hero, Hawks.

Hawks’ only objective is creating a safe world where heroes like him don’t have to work so much all the time – but that doesn’t mean he slacks off.

He’s truly committed to the cause and flaps those wings harder than anyone else in the fight against villainy.

2. All Might (My Hero Academia)

Check Out This Skin

As the Symbol of Justice, All Might worked hard to cultivate a particular heroic image.

Part of this idealized image is his unyielding smile, which he sports as he defeats villains and saves lives daily.

This iconic facial expression is inspiring but also kind of hilarious.

Even in the low-resolution style of most Minecraft skins, All Might’s smile is instantly recognizable.

1. Kamina (Gurren Lagann)

Check Out This Skin

“Who the hell do you think I am?!”

Some phrases you can’t get out of your head – like everything that comes from Kamina’s mouth.

Kamina is the epitome of heroism and masculinity. His whole character revolves around showing how far you can go with a little bit of courage, making him just as inspiring as All Might.

Not only is Kamina an iconic badass, but he’s literally from an underground village. This makes him especially well-suited to tackle the challenges of Minecraft.

His whole life is Minecraft until he drills to the surface together with Simon!
